Prayer Unlimited
Prayer is how we relate to God, to the Divine. It defines our relationship. Sommetimes that relationship is quiet, sometimes it is a conversation, sometimes it is active. Prayer, like God, is unlimited. Through story and through individual and group activity, I will introduce your group to some of the many ways there are to pray. This can be done in a 1-hour adult forum, a day-long workshop or a whole weekend.
Writing as Spiritual Practice
Each of has a voice, waiting to be heard, a wisdom within. THrough hands -on activities and group sharing, I will invite each person to open to the whispers of wisdom within each of them. This is both journaling and prayer. This is designed to be a one-day workshop or a series of weekly classes. It would also be possible to do this as an ongoing group.
Listening with the Heart
Our relationships depend on good, clear, authentic communication but we've all learned bad habits. Good listening is at the heart of great communication. I will provide you with tools to improve your listening skills--including listening to our selves, others, and God.
Grace in our Grief
In addition the retreat topics listed to the left, I also have been sharing my story of grief and hope with groups throughout the Twin Cities Metro area since 2000, when my 11-year-old son died of brain cancer. I love shining light on the messy process of grieving.
Photography as Spiritual Practice
Learn how the camera lens can help you learn to listen with your eyes--Become more fully present in the moment--Rediscover God’s amazing gifts. With a camera and a journal, we will accept the invitation to see what the lens has to show us and ponder what wisdom and beauty we find. No photography experience is necessary. Just bring a simple camera (digital would be best) or cell phone with built-in camera.
The Dragonfly Project (service project)
I can come and speak to your group about The Dragonfly Project. This is a non-profit who sends condolence cards out to people who are grieving, usually 3 to 6 months after the death, when others have stopped paying attention. Each card comes with the dragonfly transformtion story printed on the inside and dragonfly keychain. All keychains are made by volunteers. All cards are folded and stuffed by volunteers. I can come to your group, tell my grief miracle story and then your group can spend some time assembling cards for us.
